Carnaval is one the traditions that make the Mission so vibrant and plays a large role in our dance community. However, it is also in need of our help! There is a call for volunteers. If you are able, please see where you can donate your time: www.sfcarnaval.org

Learn the ancient art of Japanese Taiko drumming with Sensei Bruce 'Mui' Ghent. The Introductory taiko class will cover basic fundamental skills and history which will prepare students to advance to the next level of classes.
Beginners ages 12-adult, with little or no music experience are welcome. Taiko drumming is a rigorous physical activity. Bring water and wear clothes to exercise in (sweat happens.) Class is taught with traditional martial arts etiquette and discipline as outlined in the student handbook supplied.
New students should arrive 15 minutes early (10:15am) for the first class at to complete registration if not competed before hand.

Hip Hop Performance Workshop with Micaya: Perform in Mission in the Mix at Dance Mission Theater
Workshop dates: May 5- June 30
This is an opportunity for both beginning and advanced Hip Hop students to study intensively with Micaya, producer of the SF Hip Hop Dance Fest, and perform at one of the hottest shows of the summer, Mission in the Mix! Workshops are held at Dance Mission and SF Dance Center.
Micaya was named Best Dance Instructor by the SFBG's Best of the Bay 2012!
