Dance Mission: Allan Frias

On Wednesday July 26 the world got to see what San Francisco's Hip Hop community has known all along. Allan Frias has star potential! Making it into the new reality TV series, So You Think You Can Dance, Allan Frias displayed talent, charisma, and staying power as he was accepted as a contestant in this new show.

As the premiere Hip Hop teacher of Dance Mission Theater Allan has been a leading force of the Bay Area Hip Hop Scene for the last 8 years. He teaches 5 packed classes a week at Dance Mission Theater which is the home of his group Mind Over Matter, who perform all over the Bay Area. Allan also directs the Junior Jam youth performance program at the Golden State Warriors.

Allan, who looks more like a football player than your normal dancer, shows firsthand that body type does not make a dancer. His enormous size lends power to his teaching, stage presence and choreography and his performance quality is riveting.
